The Department of Public Service Delivery is seeking a qualified and skilled candidate to fill a Service Writer position within the Fleet Management Services Branch formerly known as VEMA in Beausejour, Manitoba.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Must have and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence with the ability to obtain a Class 3 Driver's Licence

  • Must be able to obtain a telehandler/forklift licence

  • Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including sitting, climbing, lifting up to 50lbs., and wearing person protective equipment

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Experience with scheduling work in a repair shop.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience with fleet management software.
  • Customer service experience with the ability to work under pressure and interact respectfully and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical data with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work co-operatively and effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills including the ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.

Desired:

  • Experience working with telematics/AVL systems.

Duties:

The incumbent is responsible to receive, schedule, monitor and manage vehicle repair and maintenance work in Fleet Management Services (FMS) Shop Operation repair facility.

Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor (MSR), the position is responsible for:

  • Assisting in daily operations of the FMS Heavy Duty shop operations.
  • Monitoring Heavy Equipment Division Insurance Claims and handling warranties.
  • Monthly meter reporting.
  • Receive and schedule mechanical repairs
  • Monitoring and scheduling safeties and maintenance
  • Review and approve repair recommendations from technicians and vendors
