About the role

You've already reached elite levels of performance—whether in athletics, the arts, or in leadership. Now you're prepared to channel that excellence into meaningful impact. In this role at GT Anywhere, you'll mentor students to achieve the extraordinary: discover joy in learning, accelerate their progress, and develop into assured, independent thinkers. You'll deliver this from anywhere on the planet.

GT Anywhere is a virtual school designed for gifted learners who are prepared to advance rapidly. We combine AI-driven curriculum with personalized coaching to provide what conventional schooling cannot: unlimited academic velocity, rigorous depth across sciences and humanities, and a peer community of intellectual equals. As an Academic Advisor, you'll support K–8 students ready to move at their own accelerated pace. You won't be delivering content—our technology manages that. You're the mentor who instills confidence, maintains high expectations, and helps students unlock their potential. Every interaction is significant. Every milestone matters.

If you've achieved high-level performance—in sports, the performing arts, research, or business—and you're eager to empower the next generation to do the same, this role is for you.

What You Will Be Doing

Conducting biweekly 1:1 virtual coaching conversations with each student, centered on academic planning, motivation, and growth mindset Hosting open "office hours" where students can access real-time guidance, encouragement, or problem-solving Leveraging AI tools and performance dashboards to monitor student advancement, pinpoint obstacles, and refine your coaching tactics Documenting observations, concerns, and strategic updates to keep each student on an accelerated learning path Working alongside your team to exchange effective strategies, escalate issues, and continuously refine the coaching framework

What You Won’t Be Doing

Instructing lessons, evaluating assessments, or distributing homework—our technology manages the academic content Presenting lectures or adhering to a prescribed curriculum Supervising or overseeing unmotivated students—we coach with purpose, not control Attending unnecessary meetings or navigating bureaucratic processes Operating at low intensity—this team is designed for individuals who seek high performance and meaningful impact

Academic Advisor Key Responsibilities

PhD in any field

Background in performance coaching, sports psychology, or motivational work Experience working with homeschool or alternative education families

𝑵𝒐𝒕𝒆: Crossover jobs are are fully compliant with LinkedIn's policies, as well as the applicable laws in every country where we advertise.

Allow us to clarify some common misconceptions:
1) The reason we post so many job ads is because LinkedIn organizes all job postings by location. So, the only way to reach candidates all over the world is to post multiple ads in every city you want to hire from. Most recruiters don't bother because it's too time consuming... but we're not most recruiters.
2) We mostly recruit independent contractors, not employees, because labor laws vary so much from one country to another that it's near-impossible to recruit globally otherwise (which is why it's still uncommon even though most jobs can now be done remotely).
3) As is standard for any self-employed person, the stated pay is the entire compensation package. Because they are not employees, each contractor is responsible for handling the things that an employer would take care of e.g. taxes, equipment, vacation time, health insurance. One of the major reasons that Crossover jobs pay so much more than local jobs is to overcompensate for these costs.

It's hard, but it's worth it!
