Expectation:
The Maintenance Supervisor supports the Maintenance Manager and contributes to the smooth daily operation of Scandinave Spa Whistler by ensuring all mechanical systems, pools, buildings, and facilities operate safely and efficiently. This role provides hands on technical expertise, supervises the maintenance team throughout each shift, and upholds high standards of cleanliness, safety, and preventative maintenance. The Maintenance Supervisor also communicates operational needs, issues, and progress to the Maintenance Manager to support informed decision making and efficient workflow.
Salary: 55,000.00 to 60,000.00

Tasks & Responsibilities:
General Operation of the Site
- Ensure that all mechanical equipment and site facilities required for daily spa operations are functional and well maintained.
- Conduct regular checks of pool and spa water quality and support troubleshooting of routine issues.
- Ensure pool, spa, and steam room systems are inspected, tested, and serviced according to established schedules.
- Support the ordering and stocking of maintenance supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure consistent wood quality and supply for the saunas.
- Work collaboratively with the Spa Experience & Housekeeping Manager to address operational needs.
Building and Equipment Maintenance
- Carry out and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance tasks.
- Perform minor repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general facility upkeep.
- Support renovation projects and coordinate with subcontractors onsite as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Conduct monthly inventory counts of supplies and communicate needs to the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of public areas, mechanical rooms, facilities, and storage areas to spa standards.
- Ensure the site remains safe: managing ice build-up, wet surfaces, hazardous materials, MSDS compliance, and correcting hazards.
- Respond promptly to maintenance-related emergencies to minimize downtime and guest impact.
Maintenance Team
- Ensure support for the Maintenance Manager with daily team oversight.
- Assign tasks, follow up on completion, and ensure maintenance standards are consistently met.
- Provide coaching, hands-on guidance, and technical support to maintenance employees.
- Assist in training new team members and providing refresher training when needed.
- Communicate effectively with operational departments to ensure smooth daily coordination.
- Participate in performance feedback and documentation as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
- Support scheduling needs by communicating availability, shift coverage changes, and urgent staffing requirements.
Prerequisites:
- Post-secondary education in a related field.
- 3 to 5 years' experience in a supervisor or management related position.
- Experience with plumbing, electrical and or carpentry and all-around handyman.
- Experience in commercial pool operation preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must have great leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to think on their feet, be proactive, problem solve, and deal with change on a daily basis.
- Must have a valid BC driver's license.
- Must have a clear criminal record check.
- Must be available to work full-time and attend functions after work on a semi-regular basis.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as well as a variety of shifts (AM/PM) based on business needs.
