Responsibilities
- Maintains kitchen/dining room cleaning to excellent standards.
- Cleans all dishes, pots, and inserts.
- Keeps dish area clean, neat and tidy.
- Assists chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks (peeling and chopping vegetables)
- Supports with setting up and organizing kitchen station for food preparation.
- Utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Assists with setting up and cleaning up after events or large orders.
- Understand and follows Emergency Procedures and Policies.
- Ensures to provide a safe and sanitary environment while making efforts to reduce safety hazard, accidents and injuries.
- Reports of any deficiencies in the kitchen to the immediate supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Food Safe Certificate is an asset.
- Previous experience in food service facilities is an asset.
- Demonstrates an awareness of accident and injury prevention; adheres to safe work practices and procedures; and is responsible for maintaining self-wellness and reduced absenteeism
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to set priorities, re-adjust routines and deal with repetitive activities.
- Ability to organize duties with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates solid observational skills and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, squat, kneel and lift over 20 pounds.
