Laundry Attendant
Permanent, Full-Time (through the school year), starting September 2026

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Purchasing and Ancillary Services, the Laundry Attendant is responsible for performing routine duties involved in providing laundry services for boarding students at St. Michaels University School.
Regular hours of work are Monday to Friday when school is in session. Flexibility may be needed for occasional weekend work, and during school closures (Winter, Spring and Summer break). If available, training shifts may take place in June 2026.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Sorting, washing, drying, pressing, and folding clothing, towels, sheets, and other items.
- Performing minor sewing duties.
- Tracking which items belong to whom and distributing to students’ personal boxes.
- Ensuring that the laundry facility remains clean at all times.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment.
- Capacity to work at a moderate to high level of physical effort including the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds (88 kilograms).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Safety conscious.
- Available to work the occasional weekend on short notice.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, and basic computer skills.
Salary:
Hourly range: $20.51 to $30.77
Criminal Record Check:
Must pass and maintain a clear Solicitor General criminal record check for the purpose of working with children.
