Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the incumbent performs installation, testing, analysis, maintenance and repair tasks of any degree of complexity on hospital buildings, building services, building service equipment and a wide variety of departmental equipment. Responds to emergency calls throughout the Centre, making repairs as required in conjunction with appropriate trades where applicable.
Experience
Five years’ experience, post certification, in a variety of facets of maintenance of buildings, building services, building service equipment and departmental equipment. Previous experience in a health care facility would be an asset. Experience in the installation of mechanical equipment e.g. heating and ventilating equipment, fans, pumps (vacuum, compressors) and the ability to read blueprints and interpret manuals required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required. Certificate of qualification as a Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Manitoba/Interprovincial required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Manitoba/Interprovincial certification required.
Qualifications And Skills
Must have demonstrated skills and knowledge in the repair or reproduction and re-installation of equipment parts. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements
Job requires heavy lifting, bending, and working in elevated places on various pieces of equipment (i.e. scaffolds, ladders), as well as the ability to work in confined spaces and enclosures.
