Job Summary
The Ottawa Black Bears are seeking a creative and talented Videographer to join their team for the 2025-26 NLL Season. The ideal candidate will be familiar with filming live sports and a natural storyteller with a passion for creating compelling visual content. They should be highly skilled in video editing software, proficient in lighting and audio, and have a keen eye for detail.

The Videographer will be responsible for capturing, editing, and producing high-quality video content featuring game action, community outreach initiatives and other stories that align with Ottawa Black Bears vision and audience. The candidate is required to be on-site for all Ottawa Black Bears home games; travel to away games may be required. Proficiency in both official languages and understanding of the National Lacrosse League is a strong asset.

This is a part-time, contract position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture on-field and off-field action at all 9 regular season home games; delivering highlight reels within 2 hours post game.

  • Plan, shoot, and edit video content for various platforms, including social media, websites, and TV/OOH promotional materials.

  • Shoot and edit community initiatives and

  • Craft engaging narratives through video that resonate with our target audience and effectively communicate our brand message.

  • Set up and manage lighting and audio equipment to ensure high-quality production standards in all video content.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to capture compelling content that aligns with corporate goals and brand guidelines.

  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., marketing, design, social media) to ensure video content supports broader campaigns and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in videography with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of video content which must include live action sports, preference will be given to those with knowledge of Box Lacrosse.

  • Proficient in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro), lighting techniques, and audio equipment.

  • Must own professional grade camera, audio, lighting and editing equipment to produce broadcast quality content.

  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, with the ability to translate ideas into compelling video content; understanding the unique need for long form video and promotional style pieces for social media

  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all content meets high-quality standards.

  • Ability to think creatively and bring fresh ideas to the table helping support both internal and third-party goals and objectives.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Experience working in motion graphics would be considered an assets

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.

  • Must be available to work all Black Bears home games.

  • May be required to travel for away games.
