About the Role: We are looking for a financial analyst to join our growing team! The Financial Analyst position will support the business in capital project analysis and ensure accurate, timely management of fixed assets within SAP. The role will actively participate in budgeting and forecasting processes and lead detailed month-end and variance analysis, presenting key financial insights to management. It is also responsible for preparing and monitoring plant overhead costs, ensuring alignment with budget targets through close collaboration with department heads. Additionally, the role upholds and promotes adherence to company guidelines, policies, and procedures to drive operational and financial discipline across the organization.

This position reports to the Finance Plant Controller and PFA. This position is based in Brantford.

Main Responsibilities: Capital Project Economics

  • Collaborates in the preparation of the capital project budget and its formal acceptance by Group Investment Controlling.
  • Prepares economic analyses for the approval of capital projects/investments.
  • Prepares broader economic assessments for projects requiring central approval.
  • Analyzes the return on investments in conjunction with the Group Finance Office.

Capital Projects & Fixed Asset Management

  • Cooperates with the Investment Project Department to prepare the correct WBS structure for projects under construction.
  • Works with Administration and Maintenance departments to ensure proper fixed asset activation and assignment to the SAP fixed asset register.
  • Supports administration in periodic fixed assets stock-taking and fixed asset book verification.
  • Assists in fixed asset dismissal and write-offs.

Overheads Controlling

  • Provides regular periodic reporting and additional insights when requested by managers about their cost centers.
  • Works closely with cost center managers to prepare their budgets and SAF.
  • Responsible for uploading and managing overheads in SAP and HFM for all planning and actual scenarios.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Leads the annual budgeting process, coordinating with cross-functional teams to consolidate and align financial plans with strategic objectives.
  • Prepares rolling forecasts, incorporating key business drivers, historical trends, and current market conditions.
  • Analyzes budget vs. actual performance, identifying key variances and recommending corrective actions.

Who we are looking for: Experience

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a Financial Analyst/Sr. Financial Analyst/Controlling position within a manufacturing entity (CPG/FMCG preferable).
  • Familiarity with FMCG/CPG industry and production processes.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and product cost analysis.
  • Expertise in advanced Excel and SAP.
  • Experience in Power BI and MS Access is a plus.
  • Strong database management and analytical skills.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Positive, open-minded attitude.
