Position Information The Employee Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for the formal supervision of Employee Scheduling Staff, fostering a high performing team that is well positioned to deliver against the needs of our clients.

The Supervisor will participate in recruitment, coaching, performance assessment and disciplinary activities, and will play a key role as a member of the Scheduling Office leadership team in developing and inspiring delivery towards the team mission and goals along with fostering a positive culture focus of collaboration and improvement.

Rotation/Shifts Days, 8 hour shifts.

What You Will Bring

  • 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources, Business or related filed OR an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 2 years of supervisory experience or 3 years of progressive experience in scheduling with guidance, team leadership, coaching and mentorship experience;
  • Experience working in a large, complex, unionized organization;
  • Experience with driving continuous improvement and implementing process and program improvements;
  • In-depth knowledge of scheduling language in the applicable collective agreements;
  • Knowledge of scheduling systems and scheduling employees in a complex, unionized, 24/7 environment;
  • Ability to analyze problems, develop and assess solutions and provide recommendations in a clear and compelling manner;
  • Ability to inspire others through passion, energy and positivity, and a compelling vision of the future;
  • Proven ability to lead with focus, including strong prioritization, planning and follow-through abilities;
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with others and foster collaboration;
  • Ability to develop self and others, including providing effective feedback and coaching to others;
  • Willingness and ability to role model the TOH values (Commitment to Quality, Compassion, Working Together and Respect for the Individual);
  • Ability to share knowledge with others and provide training;
  • Strong sense of accountability with a commitment to achieving high standards and to enforce policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and calmly handle conflict situations.

You will stand out with:

  • Familiar with TOH programs (i.e. knowledge of hospital policies, familiarity with the function, performance and complexity of each department and how they relate / affect one another);
  • Proficiency in English and French oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
