Job Description We’re seeking an Intermediate Pricing & Cost Analyst to join our Estimating & Strategic Pricing team at General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada for a 10-month term position. This is a key role that helps ensure our bids are competitive, accurate, and aligned with customer expectations.

In this position, you'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across Business Development, Program Management, Engineering, Commercial Services, Finance, and Manufacturing. You will support the preparation, evaluation, and justification of cost estimates for programs, established products, and services, directly contributing to the success of high-impact proposals and ongoing programs. This is an exciting opportunity to gain a broad view of how we operate and to help shape proposals that hit our “Price to Win” targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing RFPs and coordinating Basis of Estimates (BOEs) with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Management.
  • Ensuring cost estimates comply with internal processes and customer requirements.
  • Reviewing major subcontractor quotes for non-technical compliance (e.g., warranty, spares).
  • Creating Bill of Materials (BOMs) for costing; requesting and evaluating supplier quotes as needed.
  • Reviewing program schedules to ensure proper costing for the period of performance (e.g., labour rates, burdens, exchange considerations).
  • Assessing manufacturing strategies for cost efficiency (e.g., batching).
  • Identifying risks or concerns related to schedule, material lead times, labour estimates, or resource planning.
  • Documenting and revising cost changes post-review and coordinating follow-up discussions.
  • Participating in pricing discussions and preparing materials for executive reviews.
  • Preparing bid approvals and ensuring compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  • Supporting development of the Financial Volume, including pricing forms and certifications.
  • Developing spend profiles, payment schedules, profit calculations, and termination plans.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting cost estimation, pricing, financial analysis, or similar analytical work in a project-based or technical environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and other analytical functions).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

Assets

  • Related knowledge or education in industrial/manufacturing technologies and/or systems.
  • Familiarity with Contract Cost Principles 1031-2 as outlined in the Canadian Standard Acquisition Clauses and Conditions (SACC) Manual.

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations.
