• Strong background in machine learning (optimization, traditional ML, or frontier models)
• Proven track record of shipping ML models into production
• Proficient in SQL and Python
• Strong people leader with a focus on growth, empathy, and impact
• Strong ability to partner cross-functionally with business and product teams

What the job involves

• We’re hiring a Manager, Data Science who’s excited to lead a team transforming how data powers product, platform, and people at Homebase
• You’ll manage a growing team of data scientists and partner with platform engineering to bring models from proof-of-concept to production
• Lead and grow a team of high-performing data scientists; mentor them to think like product and business owners
• Support end-to-end delivery of models powering product features (e.g., scheduling, hiring, payroll, pricing, personalization) and internal systems (e.g., sales/marketing targeting)
• Champion experimentation: design A/B and multivariate tests that help us move faster and make better decisions
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to ensure data and AI are embedded into user experiences from day one
• Serve as a trusted thought partner to cross-functional leaders, product managers, and executive stakeholders
