About the role
About the team Turo's Canadian business is at an exciting stage of growth, and partnerships represent a significant opportunity to accelerate that momentum. We're hiring a Partnerships lead to define the strategy, build key relationships, and drive execution to meaningfully expand our partnerships business. This isn't a maintenance role—it's a builder role, with the opportunity to create and scale a function that will have a meaningful impact on the business. You'll be the architect of Turo Canada's partnership vertical — hunting new deals, scaling what's working, building the playbooks, and representing the program at the highest levels of the business. You'll report directly to Bass and own partnerships nationally. What You will do End-to-End Business Development: Lead the full partnership lifecycle — from prospecting and pitching to negotiating, closing, and scaling. You hunt new logos and farm existing accounts with equal intensity. Build the Machine: Stand up the foundational infrastructure for a high-performing partnerships function: deal frameworks, pricing models, playbooks, and reporting cadences that turn one-off wins into a repeatable revenue engine. Brand Partnerships: Develop and execute Turo Canada's brand partnerships strategy — identifying co-marketing, sponsorship, and affinity opportunities that expand our reach and deepen consumer trust. Financial & Performance Accountability: Own the partnership P&L — budget, contra-spend, forecasting, and monthly GBV targets. You're accountable to the number, and you know how to manage to it. Cross-Functional Leadership: Orchestrate cross-functional launches across Legal, Creative, Product, Engineering, and Finance. You're the connective tissue that keeps deals moving and stakeholders aligned. Pipeline Management: Manage a high-velocity pipeline across automotive/fleet, financial services, travel & hospitality, consumer brands, tech platforms, and loyalty programs — and know when to push, when to pivot, and when to walk away. Performance & Insights: Track partnership performance with rigour, surface insights to senior leadership, and continuously optimize the portfolio to maximize long-term GBV contribution. Your profile Proven deal-maker: 5–7 years in business development, strategic partnerships, or a similar commercial role — with a track record of closing and scaling complex, multi-stakeholder deals. Builder mentality: You've built something from scratch before — a new vertical, a new market, a new program. You're energized by ambiguity and disciplined about creating structure where none exists. Canadian market expertise: Deep fluency in the Canadian market is non-negotiable. You have existing relationships across one or more of our core verticals and understand the nuances of doing business here. Commercial sharpness: Comfortable owning a P&L. You understand unit economics, can model a deal, and know how to balance short-term targets with long-term partnership value. Cross-functional operator: You've led cross-functional initiatives and know how to get Legal, Product, and Finance aligned without losing momentum on the deal. Communicator & closer: Strong executive presence — you can sell Turo's vision to a C-suite partner and then roll up your sleeves to get the integration doc written. Relevant vertical experience: Experience spanning at least two of our key verticals: automotive/fleet, financial services, travel & hospitality, consumer/lifestyle brands, tech platforms, or loyalty programs. For this role, the target base salary range in Toronto is $124000-$150,000 annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We encourage you to talk with your recruiter to learn more about the total compensation and benefits available for this role. Turo highly values having employees working in-office to foster a collaborative work environment and company culture.
