Support early justice resolution and meaningful community connections

Play a key role in advancing community justice across Ontario by supporting early resolution, collaboration, and community-based approaches that improve outcomes for individuals and communities.

About the job

In this role, you will:

  • support accused individuals in completing court orders
  • provide case management and ongoing follow up
  • conduct assessments and interviews
  • connect individuals to community supports
  • promote early resolutions and behaviour change
  • work with justice and community partners
  • coordinate local community justice initiatives
  • analyze community needs and service gaps

What you bring to the team

Specialized knowledge

You have:

  • knowledge of policy and program development and evaluation methods, techniques, and approval processes
  • understanding of justice, social services, health, education, and employment systems
  • understanding of challenges faced by justice involved youth and adults
  • understanding of social, economic, racial, and systemic barriers
  • understanding of community dynamics and local government roles

Communication and leaderships skills

You have:

  • oral and written communication skills to prepare policy and program proposals, reports, and presentations for senior executives
  • consultation and advisory experience providing strategic advice to senior management
  • persuasion skills to navigate differing viewpoints, competing interests, and non government funded environments
  • influencing and leadership skills to build consensus, networks and partnerships
  • experience leading sensitive public and private sector consultations to guide and influence decision making

Analytical, research and problem-solving skills

You have:

  • the ability to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources
  • experience conducting independent research to identify issues, risks, gaps, and emerging trends
  • experience applying evidence based research related to disadvantaged individuals (example: youth, young adults, adults, and gang exit strategies)
  • the ability to examine complex, high impact issues and systemic barriers affecting individuals in the criminal justice system

Computer skills

  • You have experience using computer applications (word processing, presentation, spreadsheets, databases) to research, analyze data, and prepare materials
