Job Summary
As a member of the Surveillance System Engineering Team; the Surveillance Engineering Student will be involved in new and ongoing development and engineering support of Air Traffic Control surveillance systems.
You will have a diverse set of responsibilities which can include develop/enhance software, data analysis, system and software testing.
In this work term, the primary task for the student will be able to work individually and within a Scale Agile Framework (SAFe) Team on refactoring our Radar Software.

As a member of the Surveillance System Engineering Team; the Surveillance Engineering Student will be involved in new and ongoing development and engineering support of Air Traffic Control surveillance systems.
You will have a diverse set of responsibilities which can include develop/enhance software, data analysis, system and software testing.
In this work term, the primary task for the student will be the ability to work individually and within a modified Agile Team on developing and refactoring our surveillance maintenance and toolchain software.

Responsibilities
- Software development (C/C++/Python/JavaScript) and testing
- System Hardware installation, setup and testing
- Create test plans, procedures and scripts
- Support life cycle support activities of current systems and lab environments
Desired Skills
- Good understanding of programming
- Good understanding of operating systems
- Good understanding of Networking
- Good oral and written communications in English
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Programs and Level
- Graduate student working towards a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical discipline.
Work Location
- This is a hybrid role with onsite work minimum of 3 days a week at the Ottawa Technical System Centre – 280 Hunt Club Road
- Our TSC Facility has:
- public transportation access
- Free parking
- Free onsite gym
