Ruminant Nutritionist / Account Manager - Canada – Feed Additives & Premix
Classification: Full Time
Reports to: Canadian Sales Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a proven nutrition leader in the ruminant segment with strong dairy, small ruminant, and general beef nutrition and sales skills to hold the position of Ruminant Nutritionist / Account Manager for our Canadian Animal Nutrition business. Working within a dynamic team to support and develop advanced business relationships & technical competence with key strategic national / regional feed companies accounts, their sales teams, and customers across Canada.
This position will report to the Canadian Sales Manager and interact directly with our Regional Account Managers, along with their key customers, consisting of regional and national feed companies. Areas of focus include customer support, making nutritional recommendations, reviewing and implementing new nutritional technologies on-farm (specifically specialty feed additives), and trouble-shooting on-farm challenges that will help achieve the continued growth and performance goals of our ADM ruminant nutrition customers. The position is based primarily in Eastern Canada but does require occasional travel to Western Canada.
Responsibilities for this position include:

Developing nutritional recommendations, that support the performance, economics, and on-farm goals for our ruminant customers across Canada.

Growing and developing a specific sales Territory and meeting sales goals and targets

Working in collaboration with other Regional Account Managers and Canadian Sales Manager to ensure our continued strategic growth in the ruminant segment.

Supporting and training our commercial team in the areas of nutrition, management, and environmental sustainability in all aspects of the dairy, small ruminant, and beef industries.

Generating regular technical / progress reports tracking animal performance and economic parameters for individual customers.

Identifying new business opportunities for existing and new potential customers from nutritional research reviews and industry contacts.

Representing ADM Animal Nutrition at industry meetings, conferences, and training events across Canada.

Tracking important customer activities in company CRM system and reviewing account information on regular basis.
Requirements for this position include:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Canada’s ruminant industry in similar role with proven track record with dairy, small ruminant and beef customers.
- Minimum M.Sc. degree in Animal Nutrition and member of Ordre des agronomes du Quebec.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, discretion, and passion for our customers’ success
- Fluently bilingual (French & English) and ability to work in Canada
- Ability to thrive in a team environment serving a complex and evolving customer base
- Excellent understanding of nutrition / feed production in commercial Canadian ruminant sector
- Proven ability to work independently and focus on strategic agenda items in a dynamic work environment with competing priorities, with strong independent analysis skills
- Computer programs skills (BEST MIX, BRILL, Salesforce, Office Suite)
- Ability to solve problems and build strong relationships with key customer base.
- Superior verbal / written communication skills, teaching aptitude, and organizational skills
- Effective presentation and sales skills around specialty additives.
- Expectations to travel 20-30% of the time
