We are the largest private supporter of high-performance sport in Canada and we are responsible for all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games.
The Digital Marketing departments at the COC are seeking a competent, self-starting, passionate, and hard-working individual to become our Intern, Digital. The Intern, Digital will be tasked with assisting all forms of digital content creation, supporting graphic design tasks, ensuring high quality user experience across all Digital Products (web, app, email, loyalty) and supporting digital analytics tracking under clear direction from the Content and Digital Marketing teams.
LOCATION
This internship will be located in the COC office in Toronto, ON at 250 Yonge St., Suite 3000. We offer a hybrid work model that allows for up to two days of remote work each week.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES
Content Marketing
- Participates in the content planning process including strategy, production, distribution, and measurement
- Assists in the execution of content tactics across all Team Canada channels (social, web, app, email)
- Supports adaptation and translation of content from English to French, or vice versa
- Curates news-related and fan-focused content for appropriate Team Canada channels
- Curates blog-style and list content for appropriate Team Canada channels
- Assists with social media community management on Team Canada channels
- Stays up to date with the latest social media trends and best practices to help grow Team Canada/Équipe Canada’s online presence
- Monitors the sports industry and related news to ensure real-time responses and timely content creation
- As required, produces original content via various formats including copywriting, authoring feature articles, and building fan engagement experiences Assists with the research and archiving of content assets as required
Digital Marketing and Data
- Supports Digital Product ecosystem maintenance (Website, App, Email, Olympic Club)
- Contributes to user experience improvements across all Digital Products
- Manages Olympic Club fulfillment (prizing, gamification and Fan of the Month executions)
- Assists in the execution of Email newsletters
- Helps with email subscriber list management and inbox maintenance
- Aids in email inbox clearing and forwarding of messages
- Builds fan engagement content experiences using provided tools
- Supports Analytics measurement, tracking and reporting efforts for COC and partner campaign
Design
- Receives and executes simple design briefs (ex digital and email banners, social media posts, signage, etc. with oversight from the design team)
- Develops design templates for various needs that stakeholders can use to roll out assets themselves
- Assists stakeholders with presentation designing and visuals
- Supports with photography searches and selection for various design requests Assists with design team organization of files and assets
QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS
Must be enrolled in a Canadian degree or diploma program in Business (Marketing, Communications, Commerce, Sport Management), Graphic Design, or relevant field
- Interest and experience in digital marketing as a practice
- Knowledge and passionate about sports and Canadian athletes
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a major asset
- Social Media interest and savviness is an asset
- Creative and innovative thinker with experience creating digital content
- Comfortable working with WordPress and digital analytics tools is an asset
- Familiar with Team Canada/Équipe Canada’s owned channels
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail
- Must be proficient in the latest editions of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent typography and layout skills
- Motion graphics skills an asset
- Photo editing capability is an asset
- An aptitude and willingness to learn, follow direction, and receive feedback
TERM
This full-time internship will run from approximately January 2026 to April 2026, depending on the successful intern’s availability and the academic calendar.
COMPENSATION
This is a paid internship. The intern will earn an hourly wage of $18.00 with a maximum of 35 hours per week.
