Business Development Manager, Marine & Offshore Projects
About the role
What You Can Expect :
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Marine and Offshore sector across Atlantic Canada, with a focus on Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Research upcoming projects through industry publications, networking events, and other relevant sources.
- Represent Rhenus Canada at industry and networking events to build visibility and strengthen relationships.
- Participate in client meetings to understand Marine and Offshore project requirements and develop tailored solutions.
- Prepare project proposals, RFPs, tenders, budgets, and preliminary schedules for Marine and Offshore projects.
- Monitor project progress, quality, and timelines, ensuring all deliverables meet client expectations.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with clients and internal project teams to ensure alignment and timely updates.
- Support process improvements by identifying opportunities and contributing constructive ideas.
- Anticipate and manage project scope changes, potential risks, and contingency planning.
- Collaborate with the Director of Global Projects and project teams to document and standardize operational processes.
- Maintain and update the project database with accurate vendor, carrier, and port terminal information.
- Qualify and onboard new vendors in line with established company procedures.
- Partner with Inside Sales to identify leads, coordinate proposals, and support handling details for project opportunities.
- Serve as a key escalation point for service-related issues to ensure client satisfaction.
- Assist the Projects Director with month-end reviews and sales budget tracking to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Provide after-hours support as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in Business Development and Sales, with a demonstrated record of driving growth and building strong client relationships.
- Background in the Marine or Offshore Logistics industry strongly preferred, with solid understanding of industry operations, technical requirements, and customer expectations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas clearly and influence key stakeholders.
- Digitally savvy, with experience using social media and modern networking tools to support business development activities.
- Highly self-motivated and open-minded, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
- Valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel regularly within the region.
