Annual salary: 1,792.24 - $2,257.45 biweekly

The location for this position is our Dunsmuir Office in Downtown Vancouver, BC.
As a Co-op student, you will learn and experience:

Practical, hands-on work experience directly related to your specific field of study.

Learning and training opportunities, including opportunities to network with your division.

Learn all about other divisions and initiatives at BC Hydro.

We are looking for team-oriented, 3rd or 4th year Co-op students who demonstrates strong communications,
interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills. As a member of the Cybersecurity team.
-
Working with Cybersecurity Governance and Performance team, including the following tasks and learning opportunities:
-
Create, review, and update Cybersecurity awareness program materials
-
Plan, develop, and run cybersecurity awareness campaigns and events
-
Review and develop cybersecurity policies and standards with coverage of all cybersecurity domains
-
Follow process for handling policy exemptions and exceptions
-
Gather, review and analyze information with respect to cybersecurity performance metrics, and prepare documents for
reporting them
-
Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders in support of all programs that this team is responsible for
-
Review and update the existing cybersecurity documentation
-
Perform other cybersecurity tasks assigned by department or team.

The student will learn about within the utility industry and be given the opportunity to develop his/her communication skills,
software skills and professional judgement.
What you bring
- To qualify for a student Co-op opportunity, students must be enrolled in academic studies at a post-secondary institution in
Canada.
- Minimum 2nd year student currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, or related
program.

Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools such as MS Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, Excel, etc.
-
Knowledge of SQL, Sharepoint, HTML are a plus.

Good organization skills and detailed oriented.
-
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What we offer
- As a condition of employment at BC Hydro, a background check clearance will be required. This may include: reference
checks, education verification, employment verification, criminal record check, drivers abstract review, and a drug and
alcohol test.
- All positions will be hired first as a four month work term. For some positions, there is opportunity to extend, to eight
months.
- Students are expected to work at the job location for their co-op role and it is the student’s responsibility to relocate
themselves if necessary.

Flexible work model role definitions:
Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home based on the type of work
they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for each position and the operational requirements.
Employees also have the right to work full-time from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person
time.
Resident – Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid – May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote – Works from home 4+ days per week
