The CanCap Group (“CanCap”) is a privately-owned Canadian national financial services company with multiple verticals across automotive, consumer, and merchant lending portfolios. What your day and week could look like

Reporting to the Director of Servicing Operations, a Collections Specialist plays an essential role in supporting customers through the repayment lifecycle of their financing account(s). This includes:

  • Ongoing stewardship of a dedicated segment of customer accounts.
  • Achieving a high-volume of communication and attempted communication over a combination of inbound and outbound telephone calls.
  • Assisting customers with mid-term changes to their accounts.
  • Maintaining accurate records of communication and contact information.
  • Facilitating win/win outcomes for customers who have become past-due.
  • Engaging in dialogue with customers and external/internal partners via telephone, email, text messaging and letter correspondence.
  • Resolving product, service and repayment issues by clarifying, investigating, explaining, documenting and following-up on actions taken.

What you bring:

  • Three (3) years customer service experience in any industry
  • Fluent ability to write and speak business information in English and French; Maitrise du langage d’affaire en anglais et en français (à l’oral et à l’écrit)
  • Satisfaction in achieving a high degree of accuracy within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities with a sense of urgency
  • Motivation and drive towards continuous learning and growth within your role and the company
  • Dependability and self-motivation
  • Proficiency with lending software and Microsoft tools - Intermediate to advanced user experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Upbeat and results-oriented team contributions
  • Confidence at problem solving, negotiating, and common-sense decision making
  • Analysis and logic with the ability to weigh risks
  • Creative thinking “outside the box” to solve problems
  • Outstanding ability build rapport over the telephone
  • Commitment to providing ‘Raving Fan’ customer service
  • Experience in an Auto Financing is an asset

This role is a hybrid work structure, with 50% of your time spent in office and 50% working from home. This could change based on the needs of the business.
