What will you be doing!

Supporting the development and execution of the directorate’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives. Providing technical leadership and expert advice to senior management on scientific, technical, policy, customer, and market-related matters. Identifying emerging scientific and technological trends to inform strategic growth opportunities and future research directions. Developing and leading technical collaborations, partnerships, and commercialization initiatives that expand programs, capabilities, and organizational impact. Representing the directorate through stakeholder engagement, outreach activities, and the promotion of scientific and technological excellence. Fostering a culture of integrity, innovation, safety, security, and operational excellence by leading through example and promoting continuous improvement. Building and maintaining trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic objectives and mission delivery. Supporting the growth and advancement of scientific capabilities, including staff development, laboratory infrastructure, and technical resources. Providing technical oversight and guidance to ensure the successful execution of research projects and programs that meet mission requirements. Contributing to product and service strategies while aligning technical activities with stakeholder needs and organizational priorities. Negotiating scopes of work, deliverables, and technical requirements with internal and external partners. Prioritizing and aligning work activities to maximize impact, support strategic goals, and meet stakeholder expectations. Collaborating with program leadership to ensure research activities are delivered in accordance with funding commitments, milestones, and project objectives. Providing technical oversight, mentorship, and guidance to line managers and teams on program delivery within the directorate. Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What We Are Looking For

Education Master's and 10 years or more of experience, or Bachelor's and 15 years or more of experience, acceptable or equivalent. PhD preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, desired. Technical society membership and/or leadership in a Mission-relevant field, desired. Experience Experience and/or expertise with many of the Directorate’s technical areas and capabilities. Industrial and/or commercial experience desirable. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Passion for science, technology, and discovery. Recognized leadership in one or more technical Mission areas within the Directorate. Demonstrated organizational skills in both the technical and business domains, including planning and progress monitoring. Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to clearly articulate strategic and technical concepts to broad audiences. Demonstrated participation on standards committee(s) in a Mission-relevant field, desired. Security Clearance Eligibility Required Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.” Working Conditions

Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week. Based on operational requirements, this position may require expedited delivery of high-priority requirements. Travel is a regular part of the role, including international trips and extra hours.
