This position will assist the Regional Maintenance Manager, Menzies Atlantic in the day-to-day management and maintenance of the GSE, facility and tank farm operations. You will ensure that our fueling operation is delivered safely and efficiently following all applicable standards. This includes travel as necessary to support 6 additional airports in our region.
Main Accountabilities Include
- Manage the upkeep of Into-Plane Fueling systems, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), and gas/diesel vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Lead and mentor a unionized team, promoting accountability, high-quality work, and adherence to company standards and procedures.
- Support and perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections.
- Use diagnostic tools to trouble-shoot, identify and resolve mechanical issues.
- Ensure all activities comply with Menzies Aviation policies, airline-specific procedures, local Airport Authority regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor fuel transfers, inspect storage tanks and equipment to prevent spills, overfills, and contamination.
- Maintain accurate records of fuel transactions and quality control checks.
- Maintain ownership of the garage, Fuel Farm, and surrounding facilities ensuring cleanliness and safety.
- Operate motorized equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance logs. Assist with internal and external audits in coordination with leadership.
- Attend mandatory training sessions and support team development through coaching and guidance.
- Work closely with internal departments, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
- Foster a proactive safety culture by encouraging open reporting with team members
- Coach and manage team members, including documentation by following all applicable HR and Menzies processes and procedures
- Leading by example – demonstrate safe & efficient operations and carry oneself with values of Menzies.
- The supervisor will take direction from leadership and develop a high functioning team.
Qualifications And Experience
- Must possess and maintain valid Canadian driver’s license.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 70 lb.
- Must have own tools and be either a Red Seal mechanic or have heavy duty mechanical experience
- Experienced with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty equipment and machinery.
- Must be able to perform basic math calculations, maintain organized records and documentation.
- Must be able to coach, mentor and lead a team of unionized workforce
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required Airport security pass and AVOP license.
- Work is partially outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
