Job Overview
As a Senior Clinical Data Manager, you’ll take ownership of all Data Management (DM) activities from study start-up to database lock. You’ll serve as a subject matter expert in sponsor meetings, lead cross-functional teams, and mentor junior staff—ensuring data quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-site studies with healthy volunteer and patient populations.
- Own DM deliverables, timelines, and team performance.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and cross-functional leads to meet milestones.
- Represent DM in sponsor meetings, bid defenses, and audits.
- Drive process improvements and client satisfaction initiatives.
- Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to DM staff.
- Monitor scope changes, budget impacts, and regulatory compliance.
- Stay current with industry technologies and Fortrea SOPs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in life sciences, health sciences, or IT.
- 8+ years of DM experience (early or late-stage), including:
- 2+ years of direct sponsor management
- 2+ years of technical mentoring
- 3+ years of DM lead experience
- Strong knowledge of clinical trial processes, biometrics, and EDC systems.
- Proven leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in scope management, client engagement, and team development.
✅ Preferred Skills
- 4+ years of Electronic Data Capture experience.
- Familiarity with Fortrea SOPs and organizational structure.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stationary for 6–8 hours per day.
- Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
- Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
- Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15–20 lbs.
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- Varied hours may be required.
Pay Range: CAD 84,000-130,000/ annually
