About the role
Employee Working Location : In-Person (Ottawa, ON)
Employment Status : 8 Weeks
In this role you will :
- Build strong, transferable administrative and customer service skills while supporting daily operations at the Canadian Red Cross Headquarters in Ottawa
- Manage incoming calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Greet visitors and maintain security protocols, including sign-in procedures and access control
- Support office operations through mail handling, courier coordination, and supply management
- Use Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel to maintain records and communications
- Assist the Facilities Department with administrative tasks and gain exposure to broader organizational functions
What we are looking for:
- Completion of secondary school and/or enrollment in a post-secondary program (college or university).
- Little to no prior work experience required; relevant work experience coursework or volunteer experience is an asset.
- Basic proficiency with standard computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Ability to follow instructions, apply established procedures, and complete tasks with attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and receive feedback.
- Clear communication skills for exchanging straightforward information in routine situations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Bilingual in English and French
Working conditions:
- Requires concentration, attentiveness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changes in work priorities and respond to time sensitive needs.
- Work will be conducted in an office-like setting.
