About the role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Coordinator to manage payroll for a dynamic mining workforce, including employees working rotational schedules. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all company policies and employment standards. The successful candidate will work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to support payroll administration in a fast-paced mining environment.
This role reports to the Finance & Supply Chain Manager based out of our Sudbury office on a Monday to Friday schedule.Responsibilities:

Own and administer the bi‑weekly payroll function for Côté Gold, including earnings, deductions, bonuses, and payroll input for hourly employees.

Review payroll registers for accuracy and reasonableness prior to sign‑off; prepare payroll journal entries for each pay run.
-
Maintain accurate employee data in payroll and timekeeping systems, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation changes.
-
Ensure all employee hours are accurately tracked, approved, and processed in compliance with company policies and legislation.
-
Apply federal and provincial payroll, tax, and WSIB requirements, including monthly, quarterly, and year‑end remittances and reporting.

Coordinate benefit deductions, vacation, sick leave, overtime, and other payroll adjustments accurately and on time.

Support audits, reconciliations, and year‑end activities; develop and apply controls to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.

Act as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries, liaising with employees, managers, government agencies, and vendors as required.
Qualifications Key Skills & Knowledge:
- College Diploma in Administration or related field.
- Canadian Payroll Certification.
Relevant Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of wage and payroll experience
- Experience with an industrial setting with various shift rotations Knowledge of UKG and Nethris is preferred

Salary Range: $89,000-$133,500
