About the Role
SJC is looking for a Brand & Digital Marketing Manager to help shape how our consumer brands connect with audiences and grow their subscriber base. This role sits at the intersection of digital marketing, brand strategy, and P&L ownership.
You’ll lead marketing initiatives across a portfolio of consumer brands while collaborating on broader consumer marketing efforts across SJC’s flagship titles. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution — from developing marketing plans and improving how we use data to understand audiences, to building campaigns that strengthen both brand engagement and commercial performance.
We’re looking for a marketer who understands that strong brands require strong marketing fundamentals, along with an appetite to innovate and drive results. Someone comfortable thinking about positioning, audience, and messaging and applying that thinking across channels like email, landing pages, direct mail, and paid media.
You’ll help evolve how these brands are marketed by testing new ideas, improving how we use data, and applying emerging tools like AI where they meaningfully improve results.
Key Responsibilities:
##Digital Marketing & Channel Management
- Lead cross-channel execution across email, landing pages, direct mail, and paid media collaboration
- Own lifecycle email strategy, segmentation, automation, and deployment calendar
- Leverage AI-powered segmentation, predictive modeling, and behavioral insights to enhance personalization
- Optimize acquisition funnels through A/B testing, conversion rate optimization, and machine-assisted experimentation
- Continuously improve lifecycle performance through advanced audience targeting and dynamic content strategies
Revenue, Growth & Performance
- Own P&L performance across a portfolio of brands.
- Manage annual marketing budgets with clear ROI accountability
- Forecast, track, and optimize revenue performance using data-driven and AI-supported insights
- Identify growth opportunities to increase subscriber acquisition, reduce churn, and improve lifetime value
- Integrate AI tools into campaign planning, targeting, and performance analysis to drive efficiency and scale
##Brand Execution & Creative Optimization
- Translate brand strategy into high-performing, insight-led campaigns
- Ensure consistency of messaging and creative across all consumer touchpoints
- Partner with editors, designers, and freelance talent to continuously elevate creative quality
- Leverage data, AI-driven insights, and performance analytics to inform creative testing, messaging refinement, and offer strategy
- Conduct market research, consumer surveys, and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and inform campaign direction
Circulation & Fulfillment Oversight
- Oversee subscriber fulfillment processes and print quantity planning
- Support circulation initiatives including list rentals and retention strategies
- Assist in audit statement preparation and ensure billing accuracy
- Identify opportunities to streamline operations through automation and AI-supported workflow tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Zapier)
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Editorial, Product, Data, Finance, and external vendors
- Stay current on emerging marketing trends, AI advancements, and subscription growth strategies
- Contribute to planning cycles including monthly performance reviews and long-range strategic planning
- Champion a culture of experimentation, testing, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in digital marketing or subscription growth for online platforms or DTC brands
- Proven experience managing revenue targets and marketing budgets
- Strong knowledge of email marketing platforms, paid media collaboration, and conversion optimization
- Experience leveraging CDPs, analytics platforms, and AI-driven marketing tools
- Demonstrated ability to apply automation and AI to improve targeting, personalization, and campaign performance
- Combination of brand and commercial mindset
