Job Description Position Summary
The Counter Sales Associate will manage the customer service level, from order taking up to and including shipping of product. This role will be the face representing ECCO Supply to our in-branch customers, friendly and courteous, maintaining a strong level of customer service. The Counter Sales will perform all duties in a timely and orderly fashion to the best of their abilities and with the utmost due care, integrity and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
General Duties
- Assist customers at sales counter, by phone, and via email while providing high level of customer service and problem solving; as well as submitting orders and providing quotes
- Contact customers when back orders are available while making sure to update time and date of call on invoice
- Educate customers on features and benefits of products in order to improve related sales and customer satisfaction
- Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, upselling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items
- Input all invoices into the system with detailed descriptions and quantities properly specified
- Keep proper track of invoices and do daily check-ups to avoid any shipping errors
- Maintain an up-to-date sales data base with pricing, specifications, etc.
- Handle inquiries from other sales-branches professionally, courteously, and as efficiently as possible
- Forward sales lead to Outside Sales Representatives for follow-up
- Provide support to Outside Sales Team on customer service tasks when they are out of office
- Assist with quotes/pricing of jobs when required by the Branch Manager/ Wholesale Manager
- Participate in yearly inventory count
- Maintain counter sales area and racking in a clean and organized fashion
- Attend various meetings and organizations that will assist in your personal growth and enhance the image of ECCO Supply.
- Participate in a vendor/industry training a year (lunch and learns, vendor training classes, online training, etc.)
- Other duties as deemed necessary by Management
Qualifications
- Post – Secondary Education – an asset
- Previous Order Desk and/or Sales experience – an asset
- Previous experience in HVAC, manufacturing or related industry – an asset
- Desire to be a long-term employee and contribute to the company’s overall success
- Strong computer skills, with the ability to multi-task data-entry and order processing efficiently
- Ability to adapt/response to different types of personalities
- Excellent communication skills; high energy, enthusiastic with proven people skills and ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Must be willing to attend educational courses to supplement their existing professional experience for a period of time deemed suitable by management
