About the role
Our Vancouver support office is looking to hire a Stylist & Production Assistant. The Stylist & Production Assistant supports gravitypope brand identity through considered representation of products that will aid in their selling. They are an expert in company product knowledge and understand brand adjacency within gravitypope selection of goods, as well as product fit and materials. They keep on top of industry trends, collaborating with sales, marketing, photography, and buying teams to ensure the presentation of products resonates with gravitypope clients.
The Stylist prepares and organizes product before and after productions, ensuring accurate inventory movement. They are detail oriented and able to manage the timely handling of a high volume of products. They also book models/talent for productions, ensuring varied representation with productions. They work as an ambassador for gravitypope by maintaining positive relationships with fellow employees and external partners.
Wage range is typically $23-26 per hour. Compensation is based on relevant experience, job-related skills, location, and performance. Candidates who bring exceptional, directly transferable skills and experience may be considered for the top of the wage range. Duties and responsibilities include:
On-set Styling Create on-brand outfits that are commercially accessible and showcases product quality in a stylized manner Ensure proper fit on model during shoots, so products are best Stay alert on set to catch product issues such as creasing, flipped collars, pants caught on shoes, etc. Ensure footwear and accessories are well considered with all outfits. Be aware of brand adjacency between clothing and footwear/accessories Ensure important details are captured that aid in selling item online Ensure all merchandise is prepared and on set for time of shoot Help direct models to ensure natural poses and on-brand representation Flexible to occasionally assist on shoots outside of normal work hours Set up product and tabletop styling when required for off-model production
Product Organization & Inventory Management Oversee handling of merchandise while in studio’s possession, ensure product is received and returned in good condition. Ensure product is transported to locations in a safe manner. Manage all pulls and preparation of merchandise prior to shoots. Document product for easy image identification Prepare product prior to production by organizing the styling area to ensure quick outfit changes. Unbox/unwrap footwear & accessories, tape soles, steam and hang clothing in order by look, remove and safely store tags, organize outfits in garment bags
Other Provide thoughtful model recommendations and coordinate model bookings for e commerce and creative photo shoots Regular review styling and lookbooks from designers that gravitypope carries to ensure understanding of each brands aesthetic and intended representation of their products Communicate with marketing and buying teams to ensure appropriate product is pulled/styled for promotional purposes Provide input on concepts using a stylists' eye and use product knowledge to advise on production look and feel Contribute to creative photography brainstorming with photo/marketing teams Assist in scheduling and prioritizing creative projects based on studio workflow Regularly review new clothing uploads and note what can be improved. Seek feedback from buyers, marketing, retail teams on product styling
The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications: 3+ years of fashion styling experience in both studio and on-location environments Experience with styling on still-life/product productions Experience in fashion retail sales is preferred Excellent understanding of textiles and materials High attention to detail Experience with Shopify is an asset Experience with Smartsheet is an asset Able to multitask and prioritize, as well as ensure a high quality of work completed while reaching targets Able to work in an environment in which the workload and demand increases during periods of high receiving Able to respond well to feedback with a willingness to learn and develop in this role
