About the role

Our Automotive Service Manager leads from the front in a fast-moving shop where pace, standards, communication, and accountability all matter. This is not a desk job for someone who wants to hide behind a screen. This is a leadership role for someone who can take ownership of the day, drive performance, support the team, and make sure the work gets done right the first time.

You are responsible for the flow of the shop. You set the tone, create structure, and keep the team moving. You work closely with technicians, service advisors, and parts to make sure communication is clear, expectations are understood, and customers are looked after properly. You know that strong leadership is not about talking the most. It is about making good decisions, holding the line, solving problems quickly, and keeping people aligned when the day gets busy.

This role is about leadership, production, and trust. You help drive billing efficiency, labor performance, revenue, and customer retention by making sure the operation is organized and the team is focused. You understand that a shop does not become high performing by accident. It becomes high performing because the leader sets the standard, reinforces it daily, and refuses to let things drift.

In your first 90 days, the win is simple. You get up to speed fast. You understand how we operate, why we operate that way, and where the standards sit. You build credibility with the team by being consistent, capable, and steady under pressure. You earn trust by following through, communicating clearly, and making decisions that move the business forward. You do not wait to be told what matters. You learn the operation, identify what needs attention, and take ownership.

This job is demanding. Some days are long. The pace is real. People depend on you. You need to be able to manage competing priorities, handle pressure without losing your composure, and lead honest conversations with both staff and customers. You must be able to hold people accountable while still building a team that wants to win together. Experience in the automotive industry matters. Leadership ability matters more. Integrity, drive, judgment, and respect are non-negotiable.

We run standard salary weeks at 44 hours, with high volume when work demands it. The vision has always been there, but it has grown exponentially. What started out as a one man show fixing automotive vehicles in a three car garage just a few years ago, has quickly turned into a much larger operation. Moving from a home garage into a building with a 3,300 sq ft shop was a big step towards our goals. With four lifts and the ability to work on seven vehicles in the shop, we rapidly outgrew the space after a year and a half.

We have now moved into an 11,000 sq ft shop and have grown our range of services to include more than just fleet vehicles.

Our name has changed from Foothills Fleet Service to Foothills Group. We have opened three divisions to cater to a broad range of customers, while staying specialized in different fields.
