About the role
Overview
Reporting to the Director, Sales and Marketing and working with the Venue and Catering Manager, this position is responsible for driving event sales, negotiating contracts, developing client relationships and creating event proposals, all while upholding Ravine’s stellar brand and achieving financial goals. The successful candidate will have experience with weddings, social events and corporate events, will have a strong background in sales and service, and will be adaptable in an ever-changing industry.
Role and Responsibilities
Events
- Generates new group business through solicitation calls, partner relationships, and participation in Industry Tradeshows and Sales Blitzes.
- Finalizes event agreements, ensuring clear terms, pricing, and winery policies are communicated and agreed upon by clients.
- Manages sales pipeline; tracks leads, follows up on inquiries, and maintains an organized customer relationship management system to monitor booking progress and client communications.
- Sets, communicates and maintains timelines and priorities on every project.
- Provides client consultations, conducts in-person or virtual consultations to showcase winery venues, answer questions, and guide clients through planning decisions.
- Delivers event details on time, within budget, that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Seamlessly hands off detailed event plans to the Venue and Catering Manager, ensuring accurate execution of client specifications.
- Follows-up with clients after event date for feedback.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, understanding their needs to tailor event proposals.
- Prepares a venue marketing plan and revenue budget for approval by the Director of Sales & Marketing on an annual basis.
- Has equal focus in all types of events offered by Ravine.
- Completes offsite site inspections for Catering with Venue and Catering Manager
- Participates in Weekly Sales Meetings, contributing to overall success of Ravine Events.
- Reviews monthly and annual sales reports, maintain short and long term sales objectives.
- Manages sales budgets, forecasts revenue, and reports on performance metrics to winery leadership.
- Stays up to date with industry trends and shares information with sales team.
- Positively contributes to the achievement of the team’s objectives and goals.
- Maintains office filing and overall organization.
- Controls costs and minimizes waste.
- Follows all guidelines set forth by Ravine and the Director, Sales and Marketing, as well as any regulations and liquor liability laws.
- Other duties as assigned.

Educational & Experience Requirements
- Event Management Certificate or equivalent years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 3 years working in a group sales position selling wedding, corporate and social events.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with event management software; Caterease preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in executing wedding, corporate and social events.
- Smart Serve Certificate Required.
- G Class license and reliable vehicle for travel required.
Preferred Skills
- Communication: This position requires excellent listening, speaking, and writing skills; both with team members and clients.
- Customer Service: Willing to go above and beyond to achieve customer satisfaction; personable.
- Technical: Proficient with computer software such as Microsoft Office, Excel and Caterease.
- Leadership: Able to delegate, control a fast paced environment; strong decision making skills.
- Adaptability: Able to accept changing conditions and new information in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical: Occasionally lift or move objects over 40LBS.
Working Conditions
- Able to work daytime, evenings, weekends, weekdays and holidays as required.
- Full-time, varying hours depending on client and business needs.
- Approximately 70% office work, 30% out of office sales calls/trade shows/networking
- Business casual dress code.
