Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
JOB DESCRIPTION
A Preventative Patrol Guard is responsible for conducting workplace security surveys concerned with physical measures designed to safeguard personnel, to prevent unauthorized access to equipment, installations, material, documents and information, and to protect them against espionage, sabotage, terrorism, damage, and theft.
Responsibilities:

Supervise and conduct physical security surveys as required by the NDSODs for units within the CFB Borden AOR;

Brief Unit Security Officers on current security information;
-
Maintain a BF system for controlling deficiencies found during surveys and ensure that a follow up program is in effect;
-
Draft memorandums, messages and letters pertaining to security matters;
-
Inspect intrusion alarm systems and arrange for maintenance and repair as required;

Check areas containing weapons and explosives regularly and recommend storage improvements;
-
Establish and maintain a complete file system for all security records (PSS Reports);

Supervise combination changes within MPU Borden.

*MUST* Valid WSIB approved First Aid and CPR certificate

*MUST* Ability to speak/read/communicate in English

Excellent customer service and reception skills

Advanced administration skills.

Able to support database management.

Skillful with MS Office Suite.

Excellent written and oral skills.

The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential

*MUST* Have the ability to obtain Secret (Level II) Security clearance (resident in Canada 10 years or longer, clean criminal record, clean credit history)

Experience in conducting workplace security assessments and policing background preferred.

Hourly Rate of Pay: $27.40 per hour
Location: 620 Ortona Rd, CFB Borden
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600hrs
