The Opportunity Join Arup Americas and be part of a forward-thinking team that's crafting the future with AI technology! This is an outstanding chance to collaborate with world-class engineers in developing AI-based tools and applications that make a real impact. You will support the creation and testing of advanced NLP and LLM-based solutions for various applications, including chatbots, document interpretation, and compliance review.
In this role, you will contribute to data preparation, cleaning, and integration for AI workflows, helping to build seamless, automated systems. You will also be involved in crafting dashboards and automation scripts to streamline processes and provide valuable insights. Detailing your work will be essential to ensure reproducibility and effective knowledge sharing.

Is this role right for you? Required
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program majoring in AI, machine learning, or data science.
- Good knowledge of Python and familiarity with ML libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts with a keen interest in NLP/LLMs.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Familiarity with Data Visualization tools (e.g., Power BI and Tableau).
Preferred
- Strong software development skills, especially in AI-related software.
- Experience building applications with LLM, such as GPT or LLaMA, using APIs or self-hosted deployments.
- Experience building custom machine learning models with open-source tools.

Toronto Hiring Range

The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $21 to $38 per hour. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
