Business Development Manager – Environmental & Industrial Servicess
About the role
Perspectum Drone Inspection Services is seeking a driven Business Development Manager to expand our presence across Alberta’s energy, environmental and industrial sectors. Perspectum provides specialized aerial inspection, methane emissions detection, environmental monitoring and data collection services to energy producers, midstream operators, landfills, utilities and industrial facilities. We are looking for a proactive business developer who can identify opportunities, build relationships and consistently move prospects from initial conversation through proposal and contract. This is a hands-on growth role—not a passive account-management position.
Responsibilities
Develop new business across Alberta’s energy, environmental and industrial markets Build relationships with operations, environmental, emissions, engineering and procurement teams Prospect actively through outbound outreach, industry events, referrals and field engagement Qualify opportunities and maintain clear, timely follow-up Coordinate with Perspectum’s technical and operational teams to develop proposals and demonstrations Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline, including next steps, probabilities and expected timelines Grow initial demonstrations and pilot projects into recurring service agreements Represent Perspectum at customer meetings, conferences and industry events The Ideal Candidate Three or more years of business development or technical sales experience Existing experience in energy, environmental services, industrial inspection, engineering, oilfield services or a related sector A demonstrated ability to generate new opportunities—not simply manage existing accounts Strong follow-up, organization and CRM discipline Comfortable engaging both field personnel and senior decision-makers Able to understand and communicate technical service offerings Self-directed, accountable and motivated by measurable results Familiarity with methane emissions, environmental monitoring, remote sensing or drone services is beneficial but not required The successful candidate will receive a competitive base salary plus performance-based commission. Compensation will be structured to reward new-account development, profitable growth and recurring customer relationships.
