Position Details

The Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge invites applications to fill a number of one-year part-time term appointment positions. Within the part-time term contract, instructors are assigned a four to five course equivalent load that will include teaching and practicum supervision in the undergraduate teacher preparation program. Applications are encouraged from all qualified individuals including retired school teachers, Masters and Doctoral Students in Education, and administrators.

We are interested in receiving applications from people with expertise in school curriculum areas. Applicants with expertise in any of our other core teaching areas (e.g. Curriculum & Instruction, Assessment/Evaluation, K-3 Education, Educational Psychology, Inclusive Education, and/or Indigenous Education) are also encouraged to apply.

General Qualifications Include:

  • A professional teaching certificate, ideally in Alberta.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who possess one of the following:
    • A completed or in progress doctoral degree in Education;
    • A completed Master’s Degree of Education degree;
    • A completed Bachelor of Education degree plus several years’ experience in the K-12 sector may be considered; and/or
    • A completed Bachelor of Education degree plus several years’ experience in Indigenous Communities may be considered.
  • Interest in the professional preparation/development of teachers.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with colleagues and student teachers.
  • Fluency with curriculum as well as current theories and practices in areas of expertise.
  • Previous involvement in a university field experience program as a teacher associate or mentor teacher is considered an asset.
