Position: Mathematics PhD
Type: Hourly contractor Compensation: $70–$80/hour Location: Remote Duration Commitment: 15–20 hours/week Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate asynchronously with a team of experts in your domain.
- Craft, solve, and review challenging problems with real-world applicability.
- Evaluate and improve AI model performance using domain expertise.
- Shape model reasoning and elevate training data quality.
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines.
Qualifications Must-Have
- Master's or PhD in Mathematics from a top US university.
- Experience coding in Python and MATLAB for projects or research.
- Field-specific experience in Numerical Linear Algebra, Computational Mechanics, or Computational Finance.
- High attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent proficiency in English.
- Based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK, or Australia.
Start Date
- Late December; applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
Interview Process
- Short interview to assess domain expertise.
- Paid onboarding time for up to 1 hour, including screening and onboarding videos.
Compensation & Legal
- Legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor.
