Key Responsibilities:
Service (60%)
- Load service vehicle with parts required for service calls.
- Review run sheet daily to get an overview of jobs scheduled.
- Update app and paperwork with notes indicating job has been completed, or provide:
- A detailed explanation of why work was not completed.
- What must be done to complete work.
- Clearly identify parts required to complete work.
- Provide time required to complete work.
- Repair and make adjustments to exterior doors and PVC window products.
- Assist in re-glazing PVC window products.
- Set up scaffolding and operate Zoom Boom and Manlift.
- Make initial contact to troubleshoot repair &/or service issues.
- Clean up job sites during work, and when work is completed to ensure job site is clean.
- Replacement and installation of window and door hardware.
- Load the glass on the glass racks and transport the glass from service van to customer house.
- Bring defective sealed unit(s) back to Durabuilt for recycling.
Customer Service & Administration (40%):
- Ensure customer is satisfied with service and product.
- Provide excellent customer service and conduct yourself in a professional manner.
- Complete paperwork and reporting.
- Update app and paperwork with notes & completed daily indicating job is completed.
- Read and be familiar with SOPs.
- Follow health and safety regulations by wearing required equipment and protection.
Your experience is:
- 2+ years’ experience in working as a Service Technician in the Window and Doors industry.
- Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Mechanically inclined with mechanical aptitudes and enjoy working with your hands.
- Experience in using hand tools.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.
- Working knowledge of both metric and imperial measurements.
- Ability to identify main components of a window and door.
- Have read and be familiar with SOPs.
- Intermediate proficiency in computer skills in Outlook, MS Office (Word, Excel), CRM.
- Experience working with diverse cultures and a varied workforce.
Competencies – you’re good at:
- Communication effectively in English both verbal and written.
- High comfort level working in a fast-paced team environment that is constantly changing.
- Pressure to produce tangible results and complete projects within tight timelines.
- Troubleshooting abilities to analyze problem and provide solutions.
- Ability to prioritize your daily work and organize yourself to meet multiple deadlines and meet customer needs.
- Proactive and able to assimilate new information quickly.
- Requires a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
Working conditions:
- Lifting and/or carrying anywhere up to 100 lbs.
- Primarily work in customer residences and businesses. Daily travel from office to job site.
- Comfortable to work at a variety of heights from a ladder, manlift or scaffolding.
- Use standard office equipment such as laptop computers, tablets, and smartphones.
- Standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods.
- Opportunity for overtime on short notice due to operational needs.
- Some overnight stay required for out-of-town jobs.
- Exposure to all weather conditions.
