We have an excellent career opportunity within our Global Corporate and Specialty Risk division as a Senior Casualty Underwriting Specialist.
GCS focuses on large corporate accounts (with or without international exposure) as well as complex mid-market primary or monoline excess/umbrella casualty.
Your focus and responsibility will be to analyze and underwrite new and renewal business while working closely with brokers and clients. The role includes client/broker facing responsibilities while working under a national mandate for the continued development of the GCS business unit.
What you'll do
- Corporate and Specialty Risk Underwriting
- Ability to qualify and underwrite on both a macro and micro level to ensure benefit from both top line and profitability perspective
- Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate to ensure win/win for Aviva, Broker, and Customer
- Providing responsive and comprehensive service to our customers and brokers.
- Navigate and upkeep in Salesforce.
- Coordinate and communicate on account with other product line underwriters
- Adhere to risk and control procedures
What you'll bring
- 15+ years of technical commercial lines business experience.
- Established presence in the Toronto Insurance market among brokers and risk managers.
- Very strong marketing and relationship building skills with internal and external partners.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills & negotiating skills.
- Ability to problem solve and to make/impact decisions.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Great teammate, collaborates well with others
- Seeks opportunities to improve broker/customer experience
- Professional attitude
- Proficiency in data analytics would be a plus
