Scheduler Toronto, Ontario SUMMARY GIP is seeking an experienced Scheduler to join our expanding Major Projects Division. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a high-performing team delivering large-scale infrastructure projects — including highways, bridges, earthworks, utilities, and site development — that shape and support our communities. PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE Read and understand Request for Proposal (RFP) bid documents (schedule-related RFP requirements, drawings and specifications). Create the Schedule for the project procurement phase in Primavera P6, ensuring that the durations and relationships have been vetted by Operation teams, subtrades, and/or our internal production rates and ensuring that the format, quality and content of the schedule meets or exceeds Industry Best Practices. Perform and/or coordinate, collect, verify, and integrate the work scope for all entities into the total project plan. Review the representation of project scope in schedules with Project team. Create and implement key scheduling requirements such as project specific activity coding, naming conventions, client requirements management protocol, project calendars and resource and equipment, plant and manpower data libraries. Support resource planning and analysis by forecasting the requirements of various types of resources including labour, materials, and equipment over the course of the project based on work front’s analysis. Establishes productivity basis to be utilized in estimates, as developed in concurrence with Operations and Estimating Teams. Maintain and update the project schedule throughout the lifecycle of the project. Prepare progress reports and dashboards to provide project status updates to all internal and external clients which will be supported by Key Performance Indicators (KPI) programmed. Conduct Schedule Quality Assessment and Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) using industry standard software (such as Acumen). Analyze schedule variance, float and trending and monitors schedule KPI’s. Develop progress measurement process and analyze progress and performance data. Chair project specific meetings to establish project schedule mitigations with the Project team. Manage schedule change notices and forecast project impact. Implement corrective action when performance trends deviate from baseline schedule. Collaborate with all cross functional teams with base business of GIP to maintain, add, or modify the schedule data and plans. POSITION REQUIREMENTS A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in business, engineering or equivalent experience. 5 -8 years of experience in schedule management, with at least at least five (5) years of work-related experience on projects of heavy civil construction in the road building and construction industry Proven experience and ability in planning, scheduling, and managing complex projects. Proven problem solver with sound judgment who accepts ownership and accountability. High level knowledge of Planning and Scheduling software which may include Primavera P6 & TILOS. Experience conducting Schedule Quality Assessment and Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) using industry standard software (such as Acumen) Estimating software (such as Bid2Win and InEight Estimate) knowledge will be an asset. Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Ability to prioritize, organize, and deliver across several projects and under pressure to meet deadlines Commercial acumen to understand project profitability. Well-developed communication and collaboration skills. WHAT WE OFFER Expected Base Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations. Annual performance-based bonus.
