Location: 25 The West Mall, Toronto, ON, CA
Schedule: Continental Rotation – 12-Hour Shifts (08:00–20:00 / 20:00–08:00)
Pay Rate: $19.50 – $20.29/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Overview

We are looking for dedicated and professional Security Guards to join our team at Sherway Gardens Mall and Vaughan Mills Mall. In this high-visibility patrol role, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all patrons and staff. You will respond to emergencies, investigate incidents, conduct patrols, and deliver exceptional customer service while enforcing property standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations.
• Use tact and diplomacy when interacting with the public in varying situations.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, or AED support until medical teams arrive.
• Maintain and enforce access control procedures.
• Follow emergency and standard operating procedures.
• Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons in accordance with the Trespass to Property Act.
• Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections.
• Maintain a detailed memo book and complete detailed incident/occurrence reports using CF’s reporting system.
• Conduct regular patrols of the property by foot or vehicle.
• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems.
• Investigate incidents and occurrences.
• De-escalate emergency or crisis situations.
• Assist emergency and law enforcement personnel as required.
• Support daily operations and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Able to attend 3–5 days of unpaid training during weekday business hours.
• Have or are working toward a diploma in Police Foundations (please specify).
• Able to complete extensive walking patrols, including stairs, for long periods.
• Able to do Continental Rotation.
• Not currently enrolled in school.
• Strong fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Able to provide proof of vaccination for two approved Covid-19 doses.
• Hold a valid Ontario Security Licence.
• Hold a valid First Aid CPR Level C (from a WSIB-approved provider).
• Able to work 12-hour shifts.
• Able to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
• Hold a valid G Class driver’s licence.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Nice to Have:

• Minimum 1 year of prior security experience (mall/physical security an asset).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of professionalism.
