About the role
Position Overview Reporting to the Vice President of Operations , the Mechanical Operations Manager plays a key technical and leadership role, providing mechanical expertise and administrative oversight to ensure successful project execution from start-up through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and fully comprehend all mechanical scopes of work and contract requirements.
- Develop site-specific QA/QC programs for mechanical work.
- Assist in preparing CPM project schedules and provide mechanical approval.
- Create and manage site-specific cost monitoring programs.
- Review and provide final approval of all mechanical shop drawings.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for all mechanical systems.
- Support the project management team with pricing and evaluation of mechanical change orders.
- Prepare and submit the mechanical component of project start-up and commissioning plans.
- Determine all required mechanical and special permits.
- Review and approve isometric drawings for fabricated packages.
Education & Experience Requirements
- 5-10 years of Mechanical Operations or Field experience (preferred with a lump-sum hard bid General Contractor).
- Strong technical knowledge of all aspects of mechanical construction.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and project management systems (e.g., Procore).
- Mechanical Engineering background or degree preferred.
