Environmental Services Worker I (ESI)
About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restocking supplies, stripping linen, remaking beds.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and linens.
- Identify and report potential hazards to your Working Leader.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
- Knowledge and operation of a computer including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift.
- Physically capable to lift, push and pull up to 22 lbs of force.
Additional Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Requires moderate to heavy physical exertion of which may include repetitive and/or long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, or lifting.
- Required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for long periods of time. (ie: Face Mask, Eye Protection, Gloves, Gowns, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Able to work holidays/weekends and a variety of shift times.
- Basic computer skills.
- Previous cleaning experience.
- Ability to clean in isolation areas (ED, OR, ICU, NICU, etc.).
- WHMIS certificate.
