Designing Planograms that Bring Categories to Life
As a Category & Assortment Planner, you will support the category management plan throughout the entire line review working with the Merchant’s assortment to develop planograms designed to maximize sales. Led by the Space Planning and Merchandise Manager, this opportunity will best suit someone who has strong merchandising and planogram experience as well as knowledge of space planning programs.

Please note: This is a 16-month term position.

Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how:

  • Create all planograms as required to support defined assortments with respect to implementation for Home stores. Determine the spatial and fixture requirements for each planogram.
  • Contribute to and participate in all required Category Management meetings from pre-planning through to final review.
  • Develop and design store fixtures, merchandising accessories, and POP material, working directly with Store Design Suppliers as required to bring planogram to implementation with consideration to cohesive brand deployment and practical retail implementation focusing on consumer engagement.
  • Act as a merchandising SME for planogram development and provide consult to the Merchants as they develop their assortments.
  • Create all orders of merchandise, store fixtures and accessories required for development of planograms from the Dealer Support Centre, or Suppliers based the needs of each assigned line review.
  • Create and generate reports within Space Planning by Intactix, and Intactix Knowledge Base software, that are used in our assortment selection process. This process involves the filtering and organizing of product data from our database per category.
  • Deliver content in support of the assigned line review and updates for communication through Solutions Guides and Implementation Guides.
  • Finalize all finished planograms (physical set-up) before they are entered into Space Planning by Intactix software, and Intactix Knowledge Base software. Final review to be scheduled with the Space Planning DBA, ensure accuracy of final assortment and store fixture / POP requirements.
  • Coordinate and assist with the implementation of physical planograms or department displays and work with the Planogram & Imagery Coordinator to develop a Virtual Walk-through or feature Market Display as required by the Merchants.

We’re looking for:

  • College or University diploma in Visual Merchandising, Space Planning or Business with 3-5 years of experience.
  • Extensive merchandising experience with strong knowledge of fixtures, components and display accessories.
  • A good working knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Word, Access, Space Planning by Intactix and Intactix Knowledge Base.
  • Proven analytical ability.
  • The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
