Overview of role: Reporting to the Senior Manager of Member Engagement, this role will drive the definition & execution of the long-term Loyalty and Strategic Partnerships Roadmap. The Member Engagement team is responsible for the overall experience and design of the WestJet Rewards Loyalty Program, advising on long-term loyalty program strategy, managing program costs, developing program competitive position, and monitoring ongoing performance of the WestJet Rewards Loyalty Program.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Define the Loyalty & Strategic Partnerships Roadmap, collaborating with Loyalty to seek alignment on design and prioritization, followed by stakeholder engagement across WestJet Group to drive cross-functional alignment to other business priorities
  • Coordinate and deliver Loyalty & Strategic Partnerships Quarterly Business Reviews, Monthly Roadmap Reviews, and other workshops or leadership updates as required
  • Manage and build senior leadership update materials as required, including, Steering Committee Updates, Scope Overviews, Communications Plans & Board Packages
  • Collaborate across Project / Program Managers, Business Leads, Technical Teams & Senior Leadership to ensure required business decisions related to Loyalty Initiatives are made on time and with sufficient clarity
  • Support financial analysis and benchmarking as required to develop meaningful insights that inform program strategic decisions, acting as an advisor as needed
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to develop, implement and execute processes that drive forward the planning & delivery of initiatives and projects within the Loyalty and Strategic Partnerships Team
  • Ensure initiatives are moving forward in a timely manner (during both planning & delivery phases), making recommendations on strategic trade offs as required on design, deployment approaches & timelines
  • Identify and resolve key cross-functional issues across Loyalty & Strategic Partnership initiatives, escalating and drawing in senior level stakeholders (VP + ELT), as required
  • Support reporting on key KPIs to demonstrate progress on initiatives against overall business and commercial objectives
  • Benchmark WestJet Rewards’ performance and proposition against key competitors
  • Prepare project deliverables, and material including work plans and decision logs for the business (Loyalty & Strategic Partnerships) as required, collaborating across functions to define deliverable requirements, and align those deliverables to project phase and overall strategic direction
  • Participate as an active member of the Member Engagement team, willing to brainstorm on issues, complete ad-hoc requests, and be flexible in supporting or completing tasks where required

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education
  • 6-8 years of relevant work experience in consulting, program management or loyalty; previous airline experience in an asset
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet tight timelines in a high-paced environment, reprioritizing deliverables as required
  • Proven stakeholder management and presentation capabilities
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and modelling skills
  • Detail-oriented individual that takes pride in delivering high-quality results
  • Strong ability to bridge gaps between business and technical stakeholders
  • Excellent ability create plans and execute projects to deliver on-time results, working cross-functionally across various levels
  • Expert proficiency in MS PowerPoint + MS Excel
