The Opportunity:

Construction Lead / Project Manager to oversee bridge construction projects from planning through execution. This role is critical to ensuring that bridge projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest engineering standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in bridge engineering, construction management, and stakeholder coordination.

WeAre WSP

What you can expect to do here:

  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of bridge construction projects, including grade separations, pedestrian bridges, and highway overpasses.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and municipal stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and procurement of materials and services.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and building codes.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control assessments.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, internal teams, and external partners to ensure alignment and resolve issues. Support accelerated bridge construction techniques and innovative delivery models (e.g., CMGC, P3).

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is an asset.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in bridge design and construction, including leadership roles.
  • Proven experience with large-scale infrastructure projects and government clients (e.g., MTO, Parks Canada).
  • Strong understanding of seismic design, post-tensioned concrete, and steel composite bridges.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Experience with accelerated bridge construction and segmental box girder bridges.

    • Familiarity with AREMA codes and railway bridge design.

    • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and site teams.

    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
