Position Summary:

  • Working as a member of an interdisciplinary team to ensure high quality care
  • Responsible and accountable for the provision of nursing care to an adult and seniors mental health population in accordance with the standards of nursing practice and evidenced based practice.
  • Must be willing to work all shifts

Qualifications:

  • A current annual certificate of competency with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Able to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO combined with sound patient care nursing skills required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an adult mental health setting required
  • Medication Certificate and experience with administration of medication within the last year required
  • Patient physical assessment course required
  • Must have effective interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Reliable and flexible individual who is willing to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment
  • A positive attendance and work record essential
  • Must be available to work alternate weekends
