About the role

Job Description Summary L’employé est responsable de la conception des composantes mécanique de l’alternateur pour les projets de centrale hydroélectrique. Il sera également responsable de fournir du support technique à la chaîne d’approvisionnement ainsi qu’aux activités sur site.

The employee is responsible for designing the mechanical components of the alternator for hydroelectric power plant projects. They will also be responsible for providing technical support to the supply chain and on-site activities.

Job Description Principales responsabilités:

  • Livrer les lots de conception reliés aux composantes de l’alternateur en utilisant les guides techniques et le retour d’expérience des projets;
  • Supporter les concepteurs et les techniciens dans la préparation des calculs, spécifications techniques, dessins et BOMs;
  • Animer et participer aux revues de conception avec les autres ingénieurs et fonctions ainsi que les experts techniques;
  • Collaborer avec les autres Centres d’expertise (COEs) à travers le monde;
  • Fournir du support technique à la chaîne d’approvisionnement ainsi qu’aux activités sur site.
  • Appliquer les règles et les concepts de l’entreprise afin de s’assurer de la fiabilité, qualité, sécurité et de la maîtrise des délais et coûts du projet;

Qualifications Requises

  • Baccalauréat en génie mécanique, jumelé à 5 ans d’expérience pertinente;
  • Membre de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Bonne connaissance de la résistance des matériaux;
  • Avoir de bonnes habiletés analytiques;
  • Être disponible pour des déplacements;
  • Anglais et français courant écrit et parlé: L'employé(e) sera amené(e) à interagir de manière fluide avec des collègues de nos autres installations à travers et/ou à l'extérieur du Canada, et qui sont généralement incapables de communiquer en français et dont la langue de travail est principalement l'anglais

  • Connaissance des outils CAD
  • Expérience en hydroélectricité, un atout;
  • Proactif, sens de l’urgence et autonome;
  • Avoir de bonnes habiletés en communication;
  • Être un bon joueur d’équipe, positif, positif, volonté d’apprendre et de s’adapter aux besoins de l’entreprise;

English Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver design packages related to alternator components using technical guidelines and project lessons learned;
  • Support designers and technicians in the preparation of calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs);
  • Lead and participate in design reviews with other engineers, cross‑functional teams, and technical experts;
  • Collaborate with other Centers of Excellence (COEs) worldwide;
  • Provide technical support to the supply chain as well as to on‑site activities;
  • Apply company rules and engineering principles to ensure project reliability, quality, safety, and effective control of schedules and costs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Strong knowledge of strength of materials;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Willingness to travel;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and French: The employee will be required to interact fluidly with colleagues in our other facilities across and/or outside of Canada, and who are generally unable to communicate in French and whose language at work is predominantly English.

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of CAD tools;
  • Experience in hydropower is an asset;
  • Proactive, with a strong sense of urgency and ability to work independently;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Team player with a positive attitude, willing to learn and adapt to business needs.
