Note: There are 2 Temporary Full-Time vacancies available with a contract duration of 2 years from the date of hire. Payband: These positions are paid at Payband K, $47.13 - $54.48 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Averaging of hours applies according to the Support Staff Collective Agreement (Appendix C) Why this Role is Important Information Systems Services (ISS) enables the technology, applications, integrations, and data solutions that support the College's academic, administrative, and operational objectives. As part of the Enterprise Applications and Data Solutions team, the Systems Architect plays a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise technology solutions that are secure, scalable, sustainable, and aligned with institutional priorities. The Systems Architect - Salesforce will help to shape and evolve Fanshawe College's strategic Customer Relationship Management (CRM) ecosystem, leveraging Salesforce Education Cloud, Salesforce Sales Cloud, MuleSoft, and related technologies to support student recruitment, engagement, and success while contributing to the College's long-term digital transformation and enrolment objectives. This position provides technical leadership for enterprise CRM and Digital Relationship Management (DRM) initiatives that directly support Fanshawe College's Strategic Enrolment Mandate. Working within the CRM and DRM portfolio, the Systems Architect helps advance the College's ability to attract, engage, recruit, convert, and support prospective students throughout their lifecycle. Through the delivery of innovative CRM solutions, integrations, automation, and business process improvements, this role enables meaningful engagement with learners while supporting data-informed decision-making across the institution. Under the supervision of the Director, Enterprise Applications and Data Solutions, the Systems Architect serves as a senior technical leader within the Information Systems Services (ISS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Digital Relationship Management (DRM) teams. The incumbent is responsible for architecting, administering, developing, enhancing, integrating, and supporting the College's enterprise CRM ecosystem in support of Fanshawe's Strategic Enrolment Mandate. This includes providing technical leadership and expertise for Salesforce Education Cloud, Salesforce Sales Cloud, MuleSoft, and related CRM, marketing automation, recruitment, admissions, student engagement, and information systems. The Systems Architect collaborates closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, vendors, and technical resources to design scalable solutions, optimize business processes, develop integrations, ensure data integrity, and deliver innovative capabilities that enhance the prospective student, applicant, learner, and alumni experience while advancing institutional enrolment and engagement objectives. How You'll Make an Impact Leads the analysis, design, implementation, documentation, and continuous improvement of enterprise CRM and student engagement solutions Serves as the technical lead for Salesforce Education Cloud, Salesforce Sales Cloud, MuleSoft, and related platforms supporting recruitment, admissions, conversion, communications, and student engagement Designs and maintains enterprise solution architectures that support secure, scalable, and integrated business processes across the College Architects, develops, and supports integrations between CRM, ERP, student information systems, marketing automation platforms, and third-party applications Provides project leadership for complex enterprise initiatives, including project planning, requirements gathering, solution design, testing, implementation, and stakeholder engagement. Analyzes business requirements and translates them into sustainable technical solutions that align with institutional goals Collaborates with College stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and service enhancement Oversees platform administration activities, including security configuration, release management, upgrades, testing, monitoring, and production deployments Ensures data quality, system reliability, security, governance, and compliance across the CRM ecosystem Provides technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to Programmer/Analysts, technical staff, and business stakeholders Evaluates emerging technologies, platform capabilities, and vendor solutions to support strategic priorities and continuous innovation Develops and maintains technical documentation, architectural standards, system specifications, and best practices Performs other related duties as assigned What You'll Bring Three year diploma/degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field Minimum eight (8) years of progressive information systems experience with at least three (3) years of project management, systems analysis, systems design, and software development experience An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Experience designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise CRM platforms and integrated business solutions Experience with Salesforce Education Cloud, Salesforce Sales Cloud, Salesforce administration, configuration, and solution development Experience with enterprise integration technologies, APIs, middleware solutions, and MuleSoft preferred Experience implementing and supporting enterprise resource planning (ERP) and student information systems preferred Experience supporting recruitment, admissions, enrolment management, marketing automation, student engagement, or related business processes is considered an asset Experience with Ellucian Colleague, Workday, or other higher education technology platforms is considered an asset Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, systems integration, data management, platform administration, and solution design principles Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Demonstrated ability to gather, document, and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer, Application Architect, System Architect, or related credentials are considered assets What This Opportunity Offers Comprehensive Pension & Benefits: Join a defined-benefit pension plan (through the CAAT Pension Plan) that delivers predictable lifetime retirement income, plus dental, disability, travel insurance and extended health coverage.
