About Ontario Victim Services
Ontario Victim Services (OVS), part of the Victims and Vulnerable Persons Division at the Ministry of the Attorney General, supports victims and survivors of crime with dignity and respect. OVS delivers the Victim/Witness Assistance Program (V/WAP) across Ontario and works with partners to provide legal and court-based support for vulnerable victims and witnesses.

About the job

In this senior-level role, you'll coordinate initiatives within the region, working with program managers to gather insights, analyze data, and develop recommendations that strengthen victim services. Success in the role requires strong organizational skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to engage stakeholders while managing complex projects. Your understanding of systemic racism and readiness to challenge inequities will enhance your impact in this role.

In this role, you will:

  • analyze complex data and trends to improve service delivery

  • write clear reports, briefing notes, and recommendations for senior leaders

  • provide advice on policies, legislation, and program delivery

  • collaborate with teams and stakeholders to solve complex issues

  • design and update program standards, guidelines, and performance measures

  • lead and support cross-ministry working groups and projects

Note: Occasional travel within the region may be required.

What you bring to the team

Mandatory requirements

You must possess oral and written French language skills at the advanced plus level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.

Data, analytical and problem-solving skills

You have experience:

  • working with complex datasets to extract meaningful insights and support decision-making
  • preparing clear, well-structured reports for senior audiences
  • identifying patterns and trends to inform program improvements and strategic planning
  • applying performance metrics to evaluate and enhance program effectiveness

Program leadership and project coordination

You can demonstrate your ability to:

  • support management teams with strategic planning and coordination
  • gather input from program managers and stakeholders to inform program goals and improvements
  • lead and organize cross-functional initiatives, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
  • evaluate program efficiency and compliance to support continuous improvement

Communication and interpersonal skills

You are skilled at:

  • writing clear and concise documents, such as briefing notes, executive correspondence and issues notes
  • simplifying complex information into actionable formats
  • presenting to different audiences, including senior leaders
  • building relationships with internal and external partners to support collaboration

Policy and advisory expertise

You can:

  • gain and apply knowledge of victim services and justice sector operations, including relevant legislation
  • advise on policy interpretation and program implementation
  • assess operational impacts of policy and legislative changes
