Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Aviation/aerospace manufacturing. Aviation/aerospace repair and overhaul. General manufacturing. Oil and gas industry. Tasks: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Calibre. Gauges. Verniers. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Basic security clearance. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines.
