About the role

As an HS&E Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the successful implementation of health, safety, and environmental programs across Ledcor Construction operations. Reporting to the Manager, HS&E, you will be responsible for applying professional HS&E practices at assigned projects and worksites, leveraging your knowledge of Ledcor’s HS&E Management System, project-specific HS&E Plans, and regulatory requirements to help ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable standards. Working closely with project teams, supervisors, subcontractors, and operational leadership, you will support hazard identification, inspections, incident investigations, audit activities, data reporting, and injury management processes. Your ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and provide practical HS&E guidance will contribute to a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across project operations. Essential Responsibilities: Support the development of hazard assessments to identify and control workplace risks, unsafe conditions, and behaviors. Conduct site inspections and focused audits, document findings, and verify corrective actions are implemented. Assist with preparation for and participation in internal and external HS&E audits. Collect and maintain HS&E data related to incidents, inspections, audits, and observations; prepare reports and communicate findings and trends to project stakeholders. Provide day-to-day HS&E guidance to supervisors, employees, and subcontractors, supporting compliance with the HS&E Management System and project requirements. Support implementation of project-specific HS&E programs, including risk assessments, safe work practices, and subcontractor management processes. Create incident notifications and participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning. Coordinate the communication and review of incident findings to support continuous improvement across project teams. Support occupational injury and illness management activities, including return-to-work processes and related documentation. Assist with delivering site orientations, safety meetings, toolbox talks, and HS&E communications. Maintain accurate HS&E records, documentation, and project files while promoting a proactive and positive safety culture across the worksite. Qualifications: Minimum 3 – 4+ years of experience in Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Operations, Project Coordination, or a related field, preferably within the construction industry. Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related discipline. CSO, NCSO, CRSP, or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset. Working knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and site operations. Understanding of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, industry standards, and best practices. Experience supporting hazard assessments, inspections, audits, incident investigations, and corrective action processes. Familiarity with HS&E Management Systems and project-specific HS&E plans. Thorough understanding of occupational injury and illness management programs, policies, and requirements. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with an aptitude for learning additional software systems. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, subcontractors, and clients. Excellent attention to detail with strong documentation, proofreading, and record management capabilities. Ability to explain information, influence others, and provide practical guidance in straightforward situations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate information and apply standard HS&E procedures. Valid provincial driver's license with a clean driver's abstract. Work Conditions Full-time site based work. Ability to work in various weather conditions and navigate active construction sites while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). #LI-NC1 #LI-Onsite Compensation $80,100.00 - $106,800.00 This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
