We’re hiring a full-time Actuarial Analyst for a 16-month term position, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that supports Blue Cross organizations across Canada, contributing to innovative solutions and strategic decision-making.
What You’ll Do:
- Analyze and monitor the profitability of group insurance products through quarterly reporting.
- Enhance reporting processes to support efficiency initiatives.
- Build and maintain actuarial models for pricing group life products and revisions.
- Support underwriting teams with large and complex quotes.
- Collaborate with reinsurance partners on quotations and technical pricing models.
- Evaluate and review reinsurance treaties.
- Assist in implementing and testing new products or changes in quotation tools and systems.
- Adapt business processes to support new IT systems and data sources.
What You Bring:
- A university degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related field.
- Progress toward ASA/ACIA designation (an asset).
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to work through complex data sets and uncover hidden insights.
- Excellent communication skills—able to clearly present findings and collaborate effectively across teams.
- A customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
- Experience or interest in process improvement and automation.
- Knowledge of group insurance products (an asset).
- English is requirement, written and verbal, to provide services to our customers and communicate with internal stakeholders. Bilingualism (ENG/FR) is considered an asset.
The MINIMUM salary for this position is $51,887 per annum. Starting salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s education, experience, and internal equity.
